1st
Period — 6th Grade English Grammar —
The students are learning writing skills along with their study of The
Black Stallion. |

2nd
Period — 6th Grade Literature —
The class is reading The Black Stallion, by
Walter Farley, in preparation for the field trip on September 21. With
this study comes some writing assignments. Each student has been given
a notebook with study questions and activities. |

3rd
Period — 5th Grade Social Studies — The
class is finishing Chapter 3, and will have a test on this the first of
the week. The test will be an open note test. |

4th
Period — 5th
Grade English Grammar — The class is picking out
verbs and simple subjects in sentences. |
||||||||
5th
Period — 12th Grade Speech — Students
in this class will be preparing for speaking correctly as well as learning
how to research before they speak. |

| • Monday, September 6, 2010, is Labor Day. There will be no school on this day. | ||||||||

Field Trip for 5th and 6th Grade Students — We are doing
some fun things that are educational at REBUL Academy this year. Mr. Rice
has enrolled our fifth and sixth graders in The Black Stallion Literacy
Program. The cost of this is $10.00 per child. He is asking parents to
pay this amount. For the $10.00 each child will get the following: |

Check out the daily devotional from Rev. Alex Lawson, a friend
from French Camp. It is being put online as a Pre-teen
and Teen Devotional. I get it daily during the week, and will try
to change it early each morning as they come to me from Alex. |

In case of bad weather, listen to a local television stations
for school closings. Mr. Rice will call stations WLBT, WJTV, and WAPT
by 6:00 AM to announce school closings. |
